Wellness Policy

Sacred Heart Elementary School participates in the National School Lunch Program.  This program helps reimburse the cost of cafeteria expenses and provides the school guidance on food safety and nutrition for children.  One stipulation is that participating schools have a Wellness Plan.  Ours was written by the Diocese of Harrisburg.  The progress of our school’s progress is reviewed each year by our Wellness Committee.  The next meeting will be held on our inservice day on March 10, 2017.  If you would like to be a part of our committee, please contact the school.  To view our Wellness Policy as well as the Action Plan please visit https://www.hbgdiocese.org/catholic-schools/wellness-policy/.  Schools participating in the National School Lunch program are prohibited from discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age or reprisal or retaliation from prior civil rights activity in any program or activity conducted or funded by the USAD.  The full nondiscrimination policy is displayed in the Sacred Heart Cafeteria and is located online at https://www.fns.usda.gov/usda-nondiscrimination-statement.
