Tuition & Financial Aid

Tuition Assistance

The Sacred Heart School community wants no student to be denied a private parochial education because of financial need. The application process for tuition assistance is open to all families, regardless of religious affiliation, and copies of A Parent’s Guide to Financial Aid may be requested from the Principal’s Office.

The Parent’s Guide has complete instructions and all the necessary forms for applying for tuition assistance. Please note: Before applying for tuition assistance, you must enroll your child at Sacred Heart for the coming school year. See Enrollment

These are the forms of tuition assistance available to Sacred Heart School families:

Angel Fund

The Angel Fund was created by Sacred Heart’s Home and School Association (HSA). It is jointly funded by HSA, FOCUS grants, FOCUS interest on endowments, donations by Sacred Heart of Jesus parishioners to the annual Treasure Tree project, and other private donations. Families in need of assistance must complete an application form and budget sheet, then meet with the Pastor to discuss available grants. These grants can be used for tuition and school expenses such as uniforms, lunches, and the After-School Program.

EITC Scholarships

Foundation scholarships are funded by corporate contributions to Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. EITC foundations include Bravo, Family Choice Scholarships, the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation, and Newmann Scholarships. EITC scholarships are awarded after the application process, which runs February through May.

FOCUS Grants

Grants from the Foundation of Catholics United in Service (FOCUS) are awarded annually to each school in the Diocese of Harrisburg for tuition assistance. Awards are based on the economic profiles of parish schools.

The Newmann Scholarships

The Diocese of Harrisburg uses the Private School Aid Service (PSAS) to administer the Neumann Scholarships application process. PSAS recommends which applicants should receive grants based on total financial need. All students whose families meet the established criteria for financial need will receive a scholarship award. Apply online for a Neumann Scholarship.   Deadline for application is April 15th, 2019.
